It was decided that such privilege �rould not be <br /> practical, but did autharize no parking restrictions eaeh Saturday <br /> night from six o' clook on. <br /> � petition of fifty-four residents in the neighborhood of Marion <br /> and Main Streets requested the attention of the Board to this inter- <br /> section and urged that some action be taken in reference to regulation <br /> of traffic. The matter vcas referred to the Chief of Police for <br /> investigation and recommendation. <br /> x request was received from Clifford Churchill to operate private <br /> taxicab on the days of Notre Dame football games without the necessity <br /> of installing a meter. The Board decided to refuse this request. <br /> OfPicer Ernest 1�1liller made a report of the traffic situation on <br /> �onroe Street between 11�iehigan and Nlain Streets, giving a traffic <br /> count during the hour of 9 A. M. to 10 A. NI. on September 19th, which <br /> report is on file in the office of the Board of Public Safety. After <br /> considering this report, the Board decided to refer this matter back <br /> to Officer I�giller with the request that a survey be made at this point <br /> on Saturday, October 3rd, during the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to <br /> 9:00 P. 1�2. <br /> The Secretary made a report of the cost of repairing police cars <br /> before and after the �later ��Torks took over these repairs. This survey <br /> shows the expense of repairing police cars f or the full year of 1934 <br /> amounting to :�6,791,95 and for repairing the same cars from April l, <br /> 1935 to April l, 1936 amounting to :�4,423.46, sho�ring a saving in one <br /> year of �2,368.49. <br /> The Police Department reported that permitting fifteen minute <br /> parking in front of the Nlarsh Realty Company at 514 ��est Colfax L�venue <br /> �ould relieve the situation at that point and such restrietion is <br /> being enforced. <br /> The Chief of Police reported that he disapproves of 3 hour paThen� <br /> at 1901 South Main Street and at 1126 South LaFayette Boulevard. <br /> Board then ts°instructed to�notifytthe occupantssofrthatspropertyhe <br /> Searetary �va <br /> Report of OPficer P�Ziller regarding the request of the South Bend <br /> Civie Safety Couneil was fully discussed and it was deeided to withhold <br /> definite action reedrUrdinanceewould�be establishedtil J'anuary lst, by <br /> which time a revis <br /> Applieation for position on the Police Department by Theodore <br /> Paczesny was ordered placed on file. <br /> FIRE DEPgRT&�NT - Chief Freeh present: <br /> Matters pertaining to t�o Furchaseaatne�vtbatterylf orsthe supplyhe <br /> Chief and he was authorized p <br /> wagon at an approximate cost of nine or ten dollars. <br />
