The following communication received from the --Fark BoaFrdo read and <br />rtesolutioh ordered for the alley to be graded. <br />June 1991922 <br />Board of Public Works, <br />South Bend, Indiana. <br />Gentlemen: <br />- <br />A number of residents on.Sixth Street, in River Park, have complained to this <br />Board of the condition -of the_alley.at the rear of their lots and running along the east <br />side of Potto omi Park,from Mishawaka Avenue to the main drive throu.gy the park. <br />As this matter comes rightfully under the juridiction of your Board we <br />believe, we are refering it to you for your consideration, It is the opinion of this Board, <br />that something should be done to improve the condition of this alley and it out wish that <br />it be at least graded up and made.passable. <br />rAa;y we know your decision? <br />Respectfully yours,- <br />Alley to be graded:. Sweeney <br />Clerk of the Board. <br />Dated this 20th, day of June 1922. <br />'Co4cerning the improvement of 'the roadway of Rush Street frm <br />Haney Avenue to Indians` with asphalt, asphaltic concrete, bitulithic, concrete or brick, <br />in pursuance to Resolution No. 967 the Board finds that 'no petition. h,-.s been filed <br />with said Board by a>ma jority-in-number of the freeholders resid.ing.on said street to be <br />improved, requesting tt °tha>it-be improved with a different kind of pavement than the kind <br />heretofore adopted by•the-Beard in its preliminary order; and the City 'Engineer reports <br />that the White Construeion�Gompany-is•the lowest and best bidder for the,kind of pavement <br />heretofore adopted by.th.e Board;>and=the-Board find that the White Construction Company <br />is the lowest and-best-bidder-and.hereby�lets the contract for,sarid imp rovement to them, <br />and orders that said improvement bie made with asphaltic concrete a1d all proceedings hereto <br />had in this matter are hereby confirmed and ratified. <br />L. Sweeney <br />Clerk of the Board. <br />Dated this 20th . day of June 1922. <br />Concerning the improvement of the roadway of alley south of <br />Division Street from Lafayette Street to Franklin Street with asphalt,"asphaltic concrete, <br />bitulithic, concrete, or brick, in pursuance to Resolution No. 965.the bids finds that <br />no petition. has been filed with said Board by a majority in number of the fr.4eeholders <br />residing on said street to be improved requesting that it be improved with a different <br />kind of pavement than the kind heretofore adopted'by the Board at its preliminary order; an <br />the City Enginee r.reports that the Hoban & Roach is the lowest and best bidder for the <br />kind of pavement :tkK heretofore adopted by the Board, and the Board find that Hoban & Roac <br />is the lowest and best bidder and hereby lets the cntract for said improvement to him, <br />and orders that said improvement be made with concrete pavement and all proceedings hereto - <br />CD <br />fore had in this matter are hereby confirmed and ratified. <br />.L.
