He asked permission and same v��as granted <br /> to purchase 1,300 f t. of 22 in. Double Jacket Fire Hose and 200 ft. <br /> of 12 in. He also requested the privilege of purchasing t�vo suto- <br /> mobile tires for #4 Hose House equipment. The Board recommended that <br /> this be purchased from Harry '��lillette. <br /> Application for position on the Fire Department was received <br /> from LeRoy Northrup and ordered placed on file. <br /> �,LECTRICAL DEPAR'I��NT - l�r. Qualls present: <br /> Iyqr. �,ualls stated that he had a considerable aecumulation of <br /> .waste paper tape from fire alarm equipment and the Board requested <br /> him to secure bids on this, so that the matter can be submitted to <br /> the Common Council and sale of the waste tape be authorized. ° <br /> POLICE DEPARTMIIVT - Chief Lane present: <br /> k eommunication f'rom the L�iayor, directed to the Board of Public <br /> Safety �ith ref'erence to necessity of police making intelligent <br /> reports of accidents and arrests, �as discussed vrith the Chief and <br /> the Board referred the matter to hin to consult with the Mayor and <br /> report some concrete plan to be adopted. <br /> Officer Leo Berner havin� submitted medical exa�-nination certi- <br /> ficate from the police doctor �aho recommends him as a favorable <br /> applicant the Board, upon regular motion seconded and carried, <br /> confirmed its forr�er action to place Officer: Berner regularly on <br /> the Police Forc� as of July 15, 1926. <br /> The Chief of Police discussed �ith the Board the activities of <br /> the Detective Bureau since chan�es and transfers have been made in <br /> that department and suggested, due to the favorable activities of <br /> Sergeant ti�hitmer, that he be promoted to the rank of Captain. This <br /> matter, af ter being fully discussed, was deferred until the next <br /> regular meeting. <br /> The matter of to�ing wrecked and stolen cars was discussed with <br /> the Chief and it was decided to extend the present arrangement until <br /> the Yirst meeting in April. <br /> Police application of Raymond J.
