<br /> Regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on P�Tonday,
<br /> 1'�arch 2, I936, a� 9:30 A. M. Al1 members vaere present.
<br /> 1�2inutes of previous meeting were read and approved.
<br /> Requisitions in the Board of Public Safety nu�bers 08895 to
<br /> 08906, inclusive, were anproved, also requisitions from the Fire
<br /> Department numbers 03301 � 03308 and from 0331 to 03318, inclusive.
<br /> Claims in the amount of :�100.82, from the following suppliers, were
<br /> approved and oxdered paid.

<br /> FIRE DEPARTMENT - Chief Freeh present:
<br /> In a communication the Fire Chief reported that firemen now on
<br /> probation, namely Guy Gilligan, Roland Miller, Raymond �cCallum and
<br /> Russell Hoffman, are progressing satisfactorily and are improving in
<br /> their p�ork and that the Captains of the Engine Companies where they are
<br /> employed so report.
<br /> The Fire Chief reported that he required some equipment for the
<br /> emergency outfit in the way of a new saw and �ack. The Board author-
<br /> ized him to purchase this equipment as economically as possible.
<br /> The Chief was authorized to purchase a set of tires £or the
<br /> equipment at No. 11 Hose House.
<br /> Application for position on the Fire Department was received from
<br /> Joseph ti`Jalter Kring and ordered placed on file.
<br /> POLICy DEPAR'I'1��ENT -
<br /> The Chief of Police being called to the Court House to testify
<br /> in a case pending there , matters pertaining to the Police Department
<br /> were postponed until the next regular meetin�.
<br /> The following special police officer' s bonds �rere approved by the
<br /> Board and filed in eonnection with special police commission for eae�i

<br /> The following bonds for regular police officers ��ere approved and

<br /> Thomas Nowak and Jose?�h ti7roblewski.
<br /> Continuation certifieates on police bonds for the following
<br /> officers were approved and attached to ori�inal bond: Arthur P1i.
<br /> Campbell, 4'l. E. Crobot , Joseph Gembarzevrski , Joseph J. Laskowski ,
<br /> �illiam I:iillion, �dward ��Ioritz, Levi Nulf, Ben Roberts , Clyde N.
<br /> �ilson and Harold C. ��ilson.
<br /> A communication from the ll�ayor, setting forth the fact that it
<br /> is necessary for all police officers to be able to make proper reports
<br /> of accidents or arrests, was received and requested that procedures
<br /> and certain questions be formulated upon �rhich each of'ficer is to be
<br /> examined. Due to the absence of the Chief, this matter was postponed
<br /> until the next regular meeting of the Board.
<br /> Communication vras received from the Indiana Bell Telephone
<br /> Company advising that they will comply with the request of the Board
<br /> to install direct lines to the Police Department. The communication
<br /> set forth the fact that this matter would be brought to the attention
<br /> of the Board on or before November l, 1936.
<br /> ' �ipplications for position on the Police Department were received
<br /> from P3ichael John Buczolich and Joseph ti"dalter Kring. These were
<br /> ordered placed on file.
