Jackson appeared before the Board and requested that they relieve <br />him of. his assessment on his property for the Grading of Dubail Avenue, under Improverm nt <br />Resolution No. A46.1914o The Board took the above matter underadvisement. <br />Bids were received, opened and -read for Pavement and curb on Bartlett.Street <br />v from East line of St. Joseph Street to Riverside DriveJ The same were referred to the <br />City Engineer for tabulation to be peported on at 7:45 P.M. this 12th. .dad of Oct.19.5. <br />Bids were received, opened and read for pavement, curb, sidewalk and grading <br />on Leeper Avenue from Howard Street to AngeIla Avenue. The same were referred to the <br />City Engineer for tabulation to be reported at at 7:45 P.M. this 12th. -day 'of Oct s1915. <br />Mr. August Schabbel appeared before the Board and remonstrated against <br />his assessment for'water tap on W. 66 f't: of Lot 70 on Franklin Street. Mr. Toyne <br />Supt. of Water Works Dept. stated he would investigate said matter. <br />0 0 N T R A C T. <br />------------------- <br />This agreement made this 12th. daynof Oetber,1915 by and between Homer U. <br />Short and the City of South Bend, by and through its Bo rd of Public Works,WITNESSETH; <br />1hereas the said Homer L. Short has a contract from the County of St. Joseph <br />for the grading of the street in the City of South Bend known as Ernsberger Street to <br />certain levels specified by the County Surveyor and whereas the City of South Bend desires <br />such levels changed to --a arade to be established by the City Iffigineer or the County <br />Surveyor and' desires that the Haid Homer L. Short shall do said. work of excavating and <br />grading, it is hereby agreed ba' and between said parties: That the. said Homer L. Short <br />shall do the excavating on,Ernsberger Street between Ewing Avnue and the Lake Shore Railway <br />and remove the dirt from said street and grade said street to the levels to be provided by <br />the County or City Engineer. It is understood that there are approximately 1400 cubic <br />yards of ground to be removed on said work. For said services the City of South Bend <br />shall pay as its portion of the expenses fifteen cents. per cubic yard for each cubis yard <br />of dirt so removed by the said Short, and on completion of said work by the said Short the <br />City of South Bend hereby agrees to pay the said Short for said work at said price. <br />Witness our hands and seals this day and date above written. <br />Communication <br />HOMER L. Co. addressed <br />to Mr. Eli. Seebirt, City Attorney, stating that their would make the necessary replanking <br />of their right of way on Division Street soon. The same read and placed on file. <br />The following telegram was recieved by Mr. E. M.
