The Coalition intends to submit an application
for a $1,000,000 Assessment Grant to assess abandoned landfills at various locations throughout
the State of Indiana. The application is due at EPA by November 28th.
If the grant is approved all of the work would be conducted by the Indiana Finance Authority
through the Indiana Brownfield Program. South Bend would not receive any grant funds or be
responsible for grant administration. However, as a member of the coalition, South Bend sites
would be given priority for assessment work. Any property being assessed with grant funds
would need to meet all EPA eligibility requirements.
I will attend the Council meeting on November 14th. Please contact me at 235-9374 or at
akolataLeysouth bend in.gov if you have any questions.
Sincerely, Filed in Cferky.s -q,
ENOV
Ann E.
