South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting—October 11, 2011
4. COMMUNICATIONS (CONT.)
A. West Washington-Chapin Development Area
(1) continued...
Mr. Varner questioned whether South Bend
Heritage will expect action at the next
Commission meeting. Mr. Schalliol
responded that they would be looking for soft
action.
Ms. Jones clarified soft action as a soft
commitment in order to file the documents.
Mr. Gibney added that they would be looking
for a Memorandum of Understanding if they
get their tax credits. They would be
expecting the city to participate with West
Washington TIF for upgrades to the adjacent
parking lot and some facade work. The
application would get points for municipal
participation. They may or may not be
awarded tax credits. So we're not
committing money right now, but promising
participation if they are awarded tax credits.
There is no remaining TIF in the WWCDA
in 2011, so funding would have to take place
in 2012.
5. OLD BUSINESS
There was no Old Business. THERE WAS No OLD BUSINESS
6. NEW BUSINESS
A. South Bend Central Development Area
(1) Request for funds to support an
infrastructure improvement project at
113 E. Wayne Street.
7
