In March of this year <br /> after the reconimendation of the Board of Park Commissioners, the South Bend Common Council passed <br /> Ordinance 100�9-11 providing for a transfer of a small portion of Fredrickson Park to the Indiana <br /> Department of Transportation in connection with the widening of State Road 23. <br /> On July 19, 2011 the Indiana Department of Transportation rescinded its offer. They have made <br /> a new offer for a smaller portion of land and a correspondingly smaller amount of money, Eight Hundred <br /> Ten Dollars ($810.00). I spoke briefly with Council Member Puzzello on the afternoon of August 15, <br /> 2011. For your aid and understanding of the proposed transfer of land, I am enclosing: <br /> A. An area photograph showing the entire Fredrickson Park and indicating the lot from which the <br /> land which is the subject of this Ordinance lies; <br /> I3. A drawing prepared by the Indiana Department of Transportation showing the land in <br /> question; <br /> C. The Uniform Property or Easement Acquisition Offer which was presented; <br /> D. Park Board Resolution 2011-9 which was approved by the Board of Park Commissioners at <br /> its last regular riieeting,August 15, 2011; and <br /> � <br /> E. Tiie July 19,2011 letter from the Indiana Department of Transportation rescinding its offer. <br /> I will present this Ordinance to the Common Council both at its Committee and its regular <br /> meeting. <br /> THOMAS L.
