RESOLUTION NO. 1301 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION COA04ENDING <br />ROMAN J. PIASECKI FOR MERITORIOUS SERVICE TO THE <br />SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br />AND DESIGNATING ROMAN J. PIASECKI <br />REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSIONER EMERITUS <br />WHEREAS, many people express concern about urban problems and their impact <br />upon the community; and <br />WHEREAS, some people demonstrate their concern by personal involvement in the <br />process of seeking solutions; and <br />WHEREAS, a very few people are both willing and able to bring a degree of <br />dedication and leadership that culminates in real, measurable progress, enriching the life of <br />the community; and <br />re, WHEREAS, Roman J. Piasecki has shown such leadership by honorably serving as a <br />Commissioner on the South Bend Redevelopment Commission since 1982, attending 325 of <br />the Commission's 343 meetings since that time; and <br />WHEREAS, during the tenure of his service the quality of life of the residents of <br />South Bend has improved as a result of the contributions of the time, knowledge, good <br />judgement, and steadfast efforts of Roman J. Piasecki; and <br />WHEREAS, Roman J. Piasecki has served as the Redevelopment Commission's <br />representative to the board of directors of the Housing Development Corporation; and <br />WHEREAS, Roman J. Piasecki has served as the Redevelopment Commission's <br />representative to the board of directors of the Studebaker Museum; and <br />WHEREAS, the family of Roman J. Piasecki has been active in South Bend <br />community affairs for over 135 years; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the South Bend Redevelopment <br />Commission hereby: <br />1. Commends Roman J. Piasecki for meritorious service and expresses its <br />gratitude for a job well done; and <br />2. Designates Roman J.
