The Commission has owned the EMI property since 2010 but with the recent acquisition of the parcel immediately north and adjacent to the building, the conditions are now such that demolition is appropriate. With the attached Resolution and Addendum to the Master Agency Agreement, staff is request approval of a professional service proposal to update and the bidding documents to meet all current state and city requirements and also to provide demolition inspection services. The budget for the proposed scope of work is $17,680. Staff is also requesting funding for the demolition project. On September 13, 2010, the Board of Public Works opened bids for the demolition of the EMI site. The scope of work is essentially the same as the current proposed scope of work and the bids ranged in price from $136,500 to $217,000. Staff requests a demolition budget in the amount of $225,000.
