The current rate, <br />which has not changed since the inception of the plan, is 21 % of the first-class police officers' <br />and firefighters' salary. The contribution requirements of plan members and the government <br />are established by the Board of Trustees of PERF. The government's contributions to the <br />plan for the years ending December 31, 2002, 2001 and 2000, were $2,673,111, $2,540,927 <br />and $2,171,298, respectively, equal to the required contributions for each year. <br />59 <br />
