RESOLUTION NO. 1400 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION COMMENDING <br />MARY RICHMOND FOR MERITORIOUS SERVICE TO THE <br />SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br />WHEREAS, many people express concern about housing problems and their impact <br />upon the community; and <br />WHEREAS, some people demonstrate their concern by personal involvement in the <br />process of seeking solutions; and <br />WHEREAS, a very few people are both willing and able to bring a degree of <br />dedication that culminates in real, measurable progress, enriching the life of the community; <br />and <br />WHERE,AS, Mary Richmond has demonstrated her commitment to South Bend and <br />the housing needs of its citizens since 1971; and <br />WHEREAS, Mary Richmond has worked with the Redevelopment Commission for <br />14 years in various capacities representing the Bureau of Housing; and <br />WHEREAS, Mary Richmond has shown special interest in housing concerns for low <br />and moderate income residents, making special contributions in the areas of the Rental <br />Rehab Program and West Washington Housing; and <br />WHEREAS, during the tenure of her service the quality of life of the residents of <br />South Bend has improved as a result of the contributions of time, knowledge, and good <br />judgement; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the South Bend Redevelopment <br />Commission hereby: <br />1. Commends Mary Richmond for meritorious service and expresses its <br />gratitude for a job well done. <br />2. Declares it will sincerely miss her diligent work and her presence at its <br />future meetings. <br />3.
