r <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br /> INDIANA,APPROPRIATING $400,000 FROM SEWAGE WORKS CAPITAL <br /> FUND #542 FOR ENGINEERING EXPENSE ON THE PRIMARY CLARIFIER <br /> REHABILITATION PROJECT <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br /> The Primary Clarifier Rehabilitation Project involves refurbishment and rebuilding of <br /> eight wastewater plant primary clarifier machines to meet current standards of the Environmental <br /> Protection Agency (EPA) and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM). <br /> The total project cost is estimated at about Four Million Dollars ($4,000,000) and will take about <br /> three years. This appropriation of $400,000 will cover engineering services to start the <br /> refurbishment process. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA as follows: <br /> SECTION I. The sum of Four Hundred Thousand Dollars ($400,000) be and hereby is <br /> appropriated and set aside within Sewage Works Fund #642 for engineering expenses relating to <br /> the Primary Clarifier Rehabilitation Project. <br /> SECTION .II.
