Reco nig tion: The South Bend Common Council recognizes the Fire Negotiating Team which represents the South Bend Firefighters' .Association Local No. 362 of the International Association of Firefighters AFL-CIO as the sole bargaining agent for the sworn members of the South Bend Fire Department, except the Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chiefs and Battalion Chiefs for purposes of negotiating annual pay and monetary fringe benefits which are addressed in this ordinance. Section II. (a). Definitions: For purposes of this ordinance, "Salary Classifications" mean categories for salary and annual pay purposes only. Rank does not mean salary classification. (b). Annual Pay for Sworn Members of the South Bend Fire Department: Annual pay for the sworn members of the South Bend Fire Department for calendar years 2006, 2007, and 2008 shall be as follows: End of Year Salary Classification 2006 2007 2008 Fire Chief $72,506 $74,319 $76,920 Assistant Fire Chiefs $66,511 $68,174 $70,560 Battalion Chiefs $57,398 $58,833 $60,892 Captains $47,205 $48,385 $50,075 Engineers $45,495 $46,635 $48,270 First Class Firefighter $40,800 $41,820 $43,285 Firefighter $33,500 $34,335 $35,535 2006 annual pays for the Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chiefs and Battalion Chiefs reflect a two percent (2%) increase for the first six (6) months and an additional one percent (1%) increase for the last six month period. (c). Annual Pay for Firefighter Recruit: The annual pay for a Firefighter Recruit of the South Bend Fire Department shall be as follows: 2006 2007 2008 $33,000 $33,835 $35,035 (d). Salaries for Non-Rank Specialties: Qualified sworn members of the South Bend Fire Department who are regularly assigned to perform any of the following non- rank specialties, shall be paid the following salaries for calendar years 2006, 2007 and 2008: Non-Rank Specialties: 2006 2007 2008 Arson Investigators $47,205 $48,385 $50,075
