3 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1740 <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING <br />MICHAEL DONOHO FOR EXTRAORDINARY SERVICE TO THE <br />SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br />WHEREAS, Michael Donoho has been a member of the South Bend Redevelopment Commission since <br />August 1983; and <br />WHEREAS, during more than sixteen years on the Commission Mike has attended more than three <br />hundred fifty Commission meetings and devoted thousands of volunteer hours to the City of South Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, during his tenure on the Commission Mike has had an active role in projects such as the East <br />9vak and East Race Waterway, Monroe Park, Teachers Credit Union, One Michiana Square, the re- opening of <br />Michigan Street, Coveleski Stadium, the Pointe at St. Joseph Apartments, West Washington Homes, the Studebaker <br />Corridor project, Central High School Apartments, Stephenson Mill Apartments, Blackthorn Golf Course, <br />Blackthorn Corporate Park, the College Football Hall of Fame, Southeast Heritage Housing, the St. Joseph County <br />Juvenile Justice Center, the Boys and Girls Club at Family and Children's Center - Southeast, the new campus of <br />VW Ivy Tech State College, Robertson's Apartments, the Leighton Plaza project and the Morris Performing Arts Center; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Mike always looked for a way to make projects happen in a way that benefitted South Bend; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Mike brought his lengthy experience in the construction industry to the Commission and <br />provided valuable assistance to the Commission as they proceeded with many large projects in the redevelopment <br />areas; and <br />WHEREAS, Mike unselfishly gave of his time for the betterment of the community with no concern for <br />individual honor or recognition, although he played an instrumental role in setting policy and negotiating through <br />the details of many important projects; and <br />WHEREAS, during his tenure on the Commission Mike often had to make some difficult decisions that <br />were no, popular with all segments of the community, but which he felt were vital for South Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, Mike has never forgotten the public that he serves and has been committed to the public <br />)rocess of decision making; and <br />WHEREAS, Mike has taken a new job in Dayton, Ohio, and is now retiring from service on the <br />C ,)mmission. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the South Bend Redevelopment Commission hereby <br />re�.ognizes Michael Donoho for his extraordinary commitment and distinguished service to the South Bend <br />Rt levelopment Commission and the City of South Bend; thanks him for the outstanding contributions he has made; <br />and declares it will sincerely miss his diligent work and his presence at future meetings. <br />ADOPTED at a meeting of the South Bend Redevelopment Commission held on February 4, 2000, at 1308 <br />County-City Building, 227 W.
