Asked if the <br /> Clerk's Office had notified the petitioner of the hearing. Mr. Voorde said calls were made and <br /> notices sent. Chairperson Varner asked notice be sent again. At that Tom LaFountain moved <br /> the bill continued until August 8, 2011. Councilmember Henry Davis seconded and all affirmed. <br /> Bill No. 44-11 —Appropriation for 2011 Paving and Signalization <br /> Chairperson Varner recognized the Mayor who briefly outlined the 2011 paving program. Gary <br /> Gilot followed, giving detail as well as a color coded handout(attached)which summarized paved <br /> streets from 2000-2010. <br /> Turning to Council comments, Councilmember Puuello applauded the program. Councilmember <br /> Oliver Davis asked if cost figures were available for the paving completed. Councilmember's <br /> White and Davis asked three questions. The first,from Councilmember White, asked if Council <br /> paving requests were considered. Gilot said indeed they were. Gary answered White's second <br /> question about whether the work would be contracted or not, by saying most would be done in <br /> house. Karen's third question the rationale behind the request for a traffic signal on Western and <br /> Laurel. Councilmember Henry Davis followed with similar questions questioning how paving <br /> decisions were made. After Gary explained Councilmember LaFountain motioned and <br /> Councilmember Henry Davis seconded a favorable recommendation to Council. All affirmed. <br />
