South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting — August 9, 2011 <br />judgment of the Mayor, and the majority of <br />City Council, that the City of South Bend <br />needs this facility in order to properly do its <br />job with regard to animal control. Mayor <br />Luecke responded yes. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by <br />Mr. Alford and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the request from Code <br />Enforcement for additional funds for <br />construction of Animal Shelter in the amount <br />of $400,000. <br />6. NEW BUSINESS <br />A. Housing <br />(1) Loan and Grant in connection with the <br />South Bend Home Improvement Program <br />for property located at 1002 Evergreen <br />Lane (Patricia Heminger). <br />Mr. Inks noted that the loan is $3,800; the <br />grant is $3,613.50. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by <br />Mr. Alford and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the loan and grant in <br />connection with the South Bend Home <br />Improvement Program for property located at <br />1002 Evergreen Lane. <br />(2) Loan and Grant in connection with the <br />South Bend Home Improvement Program <br />for property located at 710 S. 30th Street <br />(Patricia K.
