Pfeifer <br />2"`~ District Councilmember <br />(Attachment) <br />CONCEPT PLAN <br />FOR REVITALIZATION OF LASALLE SQUARE AREA <br />GOAL: Promote economic development and revitalization <br />for the LaSalle Square area through: <br />• Improving the appearance of the area and its identity <br />making it attractive for new businesses, residents, and <br />visitors entering South Bend from the airport. <br />o Increasing business services and employment <br />opportunities for area residents. <br />o Restoring vitality, improving the tax base, and <br />increasing property values in the neighborhoods <br />surrounding LaSalle Square. <br />• Increasing the attractiveness of the area for new <br />investment by providing health and wellness <br />opportunities for employees of nearby businesses as well <br />as area residents. <br />INTRODUCTION <br />LaSalle Square is located on South Bendix Drive, just south <br />of the Lincoln Way West corridor, a gateway to the city from <br />the airport, and just north of Honeywell and Bosch. Its <br />development is central to improving both commercial growth <br />and the quality of life of the surrounding urban <br />4 <br />
