Airport Economic Development Area <br />(1) Commission approval requested for <br />professional services in the Airport <br />Economic Development Area. <br />(Survey/engineering) <br />Mr. Witwer noted that staff has solicited and <br />received a proposal from Wightman Petrie <br />for the relocation of a crosscut on Cleveland <br />Road at the PEI Genesis site. The crosscut is <br />being relocated as part of an effort to retain <br />PEI Genesis in South Bend. It will allow the <br />company to build a facility that is twice as <br />large as its current facility which will be <br />expandable to over 400,000 sft. PEI Genesis <br />will also be creating over 150 new positions <br />over the next six years. The crosscut will <br />also provide Water Works with improved <br />access to its well field. The amount of the <br />proposal is $17,500. Staff recommends <br />accepting the proposal. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by <br />Mr. Blake and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the request for <br />proposal for professional services and <br />accepted the proposal from Wightman Petrie <br />for survey and engineering services in the <br />Airport Economic Development Area. <br />(2) Staff report on Airport Economic <br />Development Area Expansion <br />Investigation (LaSalle Square) <br />Mr. Inks noted that the Commission asked <br />staff to perform an investigation of the <br />feasibility of expanding the Airport <br />Economic Development Area TIF to include <br />LaSalle Square and using AEDA TIF to <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE REQUEST FOR <br />PROPOSAL FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AND <br />ACCEPTED THE PROPOSAL FROM WIGHTMAN <br />PETRIE FOR SURVEY AND ENGINEERING <br />SERVICES IN THE AIRPORT ECONOMIC <br />DEVELOPMENT AREA <br />17 <br />
