South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Rescheduled Regular Meeting -August 25, 2006 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />A. Public Hearing <br />() continued... <br />her. He thanked her, and asked if anyone else <br />wanted to speak against Resolution No. 2254 <br />to come forward at that time. Mr. Eagan <br />asked if since he didn't use all of his time the <br />first time if he could use the rest of it at that <br />time. Mr. King said the statute also states that <br />each person is only allowed to speak once <br />and he will revise his notes and be sure to <br />mention that at the beginning next time. He <br />was sorry he could not comply with Mr. <br />Eagan's request. <br />DAVE SMITH:1312 Kline. I was also going <br />to mention that there should be a time limit <br />on these TIFs. They should not last forever. <br />We know that maybe we get the money back <br />into the community to help it grow and <br />develop instead of just expanding the <br />monster or whatever. I like a lot of the things <br />that were said this morning. <br />Mr. King thanked each one who spoke. He <br />asked if anyone else wished to speak against <br />Resolution No. 2254. There was no one. Mr. <br />King closed the Public Hearing for whatever <br />action the Commission wished to take. <br />Mr. King asked Mr. Inks to read or <br />summarize the remonstrances. <br />Mr. Inks noted that there were five <br />Communications received related to <br />Resolution No. 2254. Three of them <br />expressed opposition to the expansion of the <br />Airport Economic Development Area to <br />include Portage Prairie and are, therefore, <br />remonstrances. They opposed the expansion <br />READING OF REMONSTRANCES AGAINS <br />RESOLUTION No. 2254 <br />28 <br />
