�, <br /> � <br /> COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT Julv 11. 2011 <br /> Community and Ecanomic Development Committee Members Present: Chairperson Tim <br /> Rouse;Ann Puzzello; Henry Davis <br /> Other Councilmember's Present: David Varner; Oliver Davis;AI Kirsits <br /> Other's Present: Kathy Hahn; Rich Deahl; Rick Elliot; Wes Yoder <br /> Agenda: Bill No. 11046—Real Property Tax Abatement—4411 Quality Drive—Bandag <br /> Chairperson Rouse opened the meeting noting a quorum was present. He noted the sole item on <br /> the agenda was s petition for a six-year real property submitted by GVW Realty LLC. Located at <br /> 4411 Quality Drive. Chairperson Rouse recognized Kathy Hahn from the Department of <br /> Economic Development to summarize the project. Kathy described a <br /> $1,500,000 investment in the construction of a 30,635 sq.ft. bldg. to house the Premier Bandag <br /> Co., relocating from the Mishawaka Industrial Park. When relocated the operation would create <br /> 15 full time and 1 part time position. Kathy further reported the petitioner had met all criteria for <br /> abatement of six(6)years. Rich Deahl, Attorney,for the petitioner, made brief, explanatory <br /> remarks about his clients business plan. <br /> Brief discussion followed before Chairperson Rouse accepted a motion from Councilmember <br /> Puzzello and a second from Councilmember Henry Davis recommending a favorable <br /> recommendation be sent to Council. All affirmed. <br /> Under miscellaneous Councilmember's Henry Davis and Rouse both asked for a progress report <br /> on applications for the diversity compliance board prescribed in Bill No. 10081-11. <br /> Council Attorney Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand noted only 2 application had been received. <br /> Councilmember Rouse in response, said the application process would be re-opened until July <br /> 15, 2011. <br /> There being no further business to come before the committee at this time, Chairperson Rouse <br /> adjourned the meeting at 3:39 p.m. <br /> Respectfully Submitted, <br /> �.=�� /�� <br /> Timothy A.
