�, � COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT Julv 11. 2011 Community and Ecanomic Development Committee Members Present: Chairperson Tim Rouse;Ann Puzzello; Henry Davis Other Councilmember's Present: David Varner; Oliver Davis;AI Kirsits Other's Present: Kathy Hahn; Rich Deahl; Rick Elliot; Wes Yoder Agenda: Bill No. 11046—Real Property Tax Abatement—4411 Quality Drive—Bandag Chairperson Rouse opened the meeting noting a quorum was present. He noted the sole item on the agenda was s petition for a six-year real property submitted by GVW Realty LLC. Located at 4411 Quality Drive. Chairperson Rouse recognized Kathy Hahn from the Department of Economic Development to summarize the project. Kathy described a $1,500,000 investment in the construction of a 30,635 sq.ft. bldg. to house the Premier Bandag Co., relocating from the Mishawaka Industrial Park. When relocated the operation would create 15 full time and 1 part time position. Kathy further reported the petitioner had met all criteria for abatement of six(6)years. Rich Deahl, Attorney,for the petitioner, made brief, explanatory remarks about his clients business plan. Brief discussion followed before Chairperson Rouse accepted a motion from Councilmember Puzzello and a second from Councilmember Henry Davis recommending a favorable recommendation be sent to Council. All affirmed. Under miscellaneous Councilmember's Henry Davis and Rouse both asked for a progress report on applications for the diversity compliance board prescribed in Bill No. 10081-11. Council Attorney Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand noted only 2 application had been received. Councilmember Rouse in response, said the application process would be re-opened until July 15, 2011.
