South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting -March 3, 2006
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
A. South Bend Central Development Area
() continued...
Answer: Yes, but the final size of the
building could vary. For a corporate
headquarters, the square footage could vary
±25,000 square feet from the 75,000. We
would request some leaway for 50,000 to
100,000 square feet.
Advance Question 3b) As part of your
proposal you submitted an architect's
rendering of the 75,000 office building. Is
the design illustrated in that architect's
rendering an accurate depiction of what you
actually expect to build on the site?
Answer: The architectural rendering that
was provided was meant to be conceptual
only, for marketing purposes as well as to
determine how much space could be fit onto
the site. The final design will dictate the
construction materials and style used for the
final product. However, the design and
construction will be of a very high quality
that will complement the view across the St.
Joseph River from the Century Center.
Mr. King: So, the ultimate design would be
determined by the tenant? Or interaction
between your company and the tenant?
Answer: Hopefully, it would be interaction
between ourselves, the tenant, the City, and
all the players involved in the master
planning effort.
16
