South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting -January 20, 2006 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />C. Housing <br />There was no Housing business. <br />D. South Bend Central Development Area <br />(1) Commission approval requested for <br />proposal for roof repair at 237 N. <br />Michigan St. in the South Bend Central <br />Development Area. (LaSalle Hotel) <br />Mr. Williams noted that the LaSalle Hotel <br />had a minor roof leak that had to betaken <br />care of in order to prevent further damage to <br />the building. Staff requested a proposal from <br />KRC Roofing & Sheet Metal, Inc. to repair <br />the leak. KRC, under the direction of Bob <br />Humbarger as consultant, has done repairs to <br />the roof, but this leak has developed since the <br />fall of 2005. The fee for the work is $680. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Hojnacki, seconded <br />by Mr. Downes and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the request for <br />proposal for roof repair in the South Bend <br />Central Development Area and accepted the <br />proposal from KRC for the scope of services <br />and fee proposed. <br />(2) Commission approval requested for First <br />Amendment to Lease Agreement in the <br />South Bend Central Development Area. <br />(123 S. Michigan St., CORT Furniture <br />Rental) <br />Mr. Williams noted that the CORT Furniture <br />lease has expired. Staff has negotiated terms <br />of and amendment to the lease for five years <br />at a graduated rate. In the first year the <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE REQUEST FOR <br />PROPOSAL FOR ROOF REPAIR IN THE SOUTH <br />BEND CENTRAL DEVELOPMENT AREA AND <br />ACCEPTED THE PROPOSAL FROM KRC FOR THE <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES AND FEE PROPOSED <br />25 <br />
