ce C()) <br />��TB Be <br />Community & Economic Development,€ <br />1200 County -City Building, 227 West Jefferson, South Bend, Indiana 46601 -1830 Phone 574/235 -9371 Fax 574/235 -9021 <br />To: Redevelopment Commission, Board of Public Works <br />From: Matthew Sikora, Economic Development Planner * <br />Subject: Resolution 2927 and Addendum To Master Agency Agreement <br />LaSalle Square Phase One — Supplement #1 Project <br />Date: August 9, 2011 <br />Attached to this memorandum is Resolution 2927 and Addendum To Master Agency <br />Agreement for the LaSalle Square Phase One — Supplement #1 project. <br />On June 28, 2011 the Redevelopment Commission approved Resolution 2912 to allow for <br />the design, and development of bid documents for, the construction of Bonds Avenue ( ±470 <br />feet) and a new city street ( ±340 feet) adjacent to the St. Joseph County Public Library, as <br />part of site improvements for a proposed senior housing development (Heritage Place at <br />LaSalle Square). Additional work included utility survey, environmental assessment of the <br />former Fernando's restaurant (prior to demolition) and engineering design to relocate <br />sanitary sewer and water main currently running through the development site. Total cost <br />of these services was approved for $62,400. <br />The attached document includes an engineer's estimate of all work to be completed as a <br />continuation of this project, including the cost of the road and sidewalk improvements to <br />both Bonds Avenue and the library drive, utility realignment and the demolition of the former <br />Fernando's restaurant. This work will be coordinated among the city, Abonmarche and its <br />client Sterling Group, LLC (developers of the senior housing), to ensure timely completion, <br />to protect against damage as a result of concurrent construction activity at the site, and to <br />allow all improvement to be made and the resulting city- standard streets to be turned over <br />to the Street Department for maintenance prior to winter. Total cost estimated for this work <br />is $398,555, with a request for a not -to- exceed amount of $400,000. <br />Staff requests approval of Resolution 2927 and the Addendum To Master Agency <br />Agreement for the LaSalle Square Phase One — Supplement #1 Project. <br />What We Do Today Makes A Difference/ <br />
