(3) Periodic inspections . Every taxicab operating under <br /> this section shall be periodically inspected by the <br /> Department of Central Services Division at such intervals as <br /> necessary to ensure the maintenance of safe ood operating <br /> conditions . In addition no license or renewal of license <br /> shall be issued for any vehicle unless it has passed both <br /> Bepartment of Central Services Division and Bureau of <br /> Weights and Measures inspections within sixty (60) days <br /> prior to such issuance or renewal . The scheduling of <br /> inspections is the responsibility of the taxicab company. <br /> Every taxicab must be inspected at least once every six <br /> months . If a taxicab is inspected by the St . Joseph County <br /> Airport Authority and the company owner presents a <br /> certificate no less than 14 days after it issued to the <br /> Central Services Division six months after the Central <br /> Services Division inspects and approves the taxicab, the six <br /> month inspection requirementi_s satisfied. If the compan�r <br /> owner does not present a St . Joseph County Airport Authority <br /> certificate, the owner is responsible for having the taxicab <br /> reinspected by the Central Services Division. The City <br /> Controller shall post on the City website taxicab inspection <br /> forms used by the Central Services Division and the Air ort <br /> Authority, along with the Airport Authority standards and <br /> requirements for taxicabs for hire . Taxicabs which fail to <br /> ass inspection or for which an scheduled inspection is <br /> missed will be subject to a twenty-five dollar 25 . 00 <br /> reins ection fee which will be due at the time of <br /> reinspection. <br /> (4) Cleanliness Every taxicab operating under this section <br /> shall be kept in a clean and sanitary condition inside the <br /> passenger area and trunk and outside the vehicle taxicab. <br /> The interior of the taxicab must be free of debris and loose <br /> dirt and foul odors . The upholstery must be free of <br /> grease, food, ashes , dirt, and stains, and not rit)ped or <br /> torn. <br /> ±5L Bod and operating condition. Vehicles� Taxicabs must <br /> also be free from mechanical defects, rust and body damage . <br /> All taxicabs that have any body damage, mechanical <br /> 6 <br />
