South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting - March 16, 2001 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />d. Commission approval requested for <br />disposition of property in the Sample -Ewing <br />Development Area. (Parcel 26, Studebaker <br />Corridor) <br />Mr. Schalliol explained that the parcel is 16,000 <br />sq.ft. and is located on the southeast corner of <br />Main St. and Broadway. He stated that <br />Mr. Podell currently has an operation at the <br />location and would like to acquire the property <br />and expand his business. The expansion would <br />be used for manufacturing and would also <br />include a new paved parking area, landscaping <br />and a rear fenced storage yard. The proposed <br />purchase price is $1000. The staff recommends <br />accepting the offer. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Faccenda, seconded by <br />Mr. Caldwell and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the sale of parcel 26 in the <br />Studebaker Corridor in the Sample -Ewing <br />Development Area for a price of $1000 to <br />Mr. Podell. <br />e. Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 1828 transferring property <br />located in the Sample -Ewing Development <br />Area to St. Joseph County. (Jail site) <br />Ms. Greene explained that items 6.e and 6.f are <br />related in that this both properties were acquired <br />from AEP for the new jail site.
