South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting —July 20, 2001 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />a. Public Hearing on Resolution No. 1839 <br />amending the Sample -Ewing Development <br />Area Development Plan. <br />Mr. Inks noted that the Public Hearing file <br />includes all the necessary items, including: <br />1) an original of the "Notice of Hearing of the <br />Amendment to the Sample -Ewing Development <br />Area Development Plan"; 2) an affidavit from <br />Carol Smith, Advertising Manager of the South <br />Bend Tribune, that the Notice of Hearing was <br />published in that daily newspaper on <br />July 6, 2001; 3) an affidavit from Richard J. <br />Andrysiak, Classified Manager of the Tri- <br />County News, that the Notice of Hearing was <br />published in that weekly newspaper on July 6, <br />2001; 4) a copy of Resolution No. 1839, which <br />is the subject of the public hearing; 5) a memo <br />from Ann E. Kolata that on July 6, 2001, copies <br />of the Notice of Public Hearing were sent to the <br />affected property owners and registered <br />neighborhood associations; 6) as of 10:00 a.m. <br />EST on July 20, 2001, 2 written <br />remonstrances were received, one from Attorney <br />Terrance F. Wozniak, representing The Art <br />Mosaic & Tile Co., Inc., and the other from <br />Attorney James A. Masters representing TIMM, <br />Inc. d/b /a South Bend Lathe. The two <br />remonstrances are attached hereto and <br />incorporated by reference into the minutes as <br />Exhibits A & B. <br />Mr. Mariani explained that Resolution No. 1839 <br />adds 55 properties in the Sample -Ewing <br />Development Area to the acquisition list of the <br />Sample -Ewing Development Area Development <br />Plan. These properties are part of five small <br />project areas. <br />
