South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting— December 7, 2001 <br />3. CLAIMS (CONT.) <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by <br />Mr. Faccenda and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the Claims submitted <br />December 7, 2001 and ordered the checks to be <br />released. <br />4. COMMUNICATIONS <br />A. There were no Communications. <br />5. OLD BUSINESS <br />A. There was no Old Business. <br />6. NEW BUSINESS <br />A. Tax Abatements <br />(1) Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 1854 approving an <br />application for personal property tax <br />deduction for property located at 4701 Nimtz <br />Parkway in the Airport Economic <br />Development Area. (Schafer Gear) <br />Mr. Beitzinger gave the staff report on the <br />project. Schafer Gear Works, Inc., is a custom <br />manufacturer of gears and machined parts. This <br />project calls for the purchase of three CNC <br />hobbing machines, three CNC shaving <br />machines, three CNC chamfering machines, two <br />CNC lathes, two CNC grinders, gaging <br />equipment, automation equipment, a washing <br />machine, a press, and inspection equipment. <br />This equipment will be in addition to existing <br />equipment and is required due to new customer <br />business. The total cost of the project is <br />estimated at $4,100,000. <br />N <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE CLAIMS <br />SUBMITTED DECEMBER 7, 2001 AND <br />ORDERED THE CHECKS TO BE RELEASED. <br />THERE WERE NO COMMUNICATIONS. <br />THERE WAS NO OLD BUSINESS. <br />
