South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting —July 19, 2002
Commission, this program fits well with the
existing goals for the site. Following
acceptance of the VRP application for
Area A, the Indiana Department of
Environmental Management will forward a
Voluntary Remediation Agreement to the
Commission for execution.
Upon a motion by Ms. Jones, seconded by
Mr. Faccenda and unanimously carried, the
Commission authorized the submission of
an application to the Indiana Department of
Environmental Management's Voluntary
Remediation Program. (Studebaker Area A)
(6) Commission approval requested for
Resolution No. 1900 approving the
execution of a quit claim deed and other
related documents relating to the TJX
Redevelopment Project.
Ms. Greene advised that staff wished to
move towards closing as quickly as possible
on the TJX Project. Because of the
Commission schedule of meeting only on
the first and third Fridays of each month, the
potential exists that closing could occur
before the next Commission meeting. There
are several documents that are in the process
of being finalized that will be necessary at
closing. Resolution No. 1900 approves the
documents subject to final review by the
City Legal Department. Once the Legal
Department has deemed the documents
suitable for closing, the necessary signatures
will be obtained without a Special Meeting
being scheduled. The documents include the
Quit Claim Deed to TJX, Grant of Easement
for Environmental Remediation, Demolition
and Construction Easement Agreement, and
a Memorandum of Contract for Sale of Land
13
COMMISSION AUTHORIZED THE SUBMISSION OF AN
APPLICATION TO THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT'S VOLUNTARY
REMEDIATION PROGRAM.
