South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Special Meeting— August 8, 2002
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
E. Airport Economic Development Area
(2) and (3) continued...
Knolls at Blackthorn projects will be
substituted for items 6.E.2 and 6.E.3. and
that Resolution No. 1903 encompasses both
items.
Mr. Inks requested that the approval of
Resolution No. 1903 be added to the agenda.
(4) Commission approval requested for
Resolution No. 1903 approving the
execution of a Development Agreement
and other related documents associated
with the Villas at Lake Blackthorn and
Westwood Knolls at Blackthorn projects.
Mr. Jon Hunt presented the following
information to the Commission on behalf of
staff, city attorney and developer:
Mr. Hunt began first by thanking the
Commission for attending the Special
Meeting which was called specifically to
address various timing issues related to the
projects. One of those issues include a
chance to have the first Panorama of Homes
site in the City of South Bend which would
also significantly assist in marketing/selling
this overall project, thereby ensuring project
success. There is a deadline on the
presentation to the Home Builders
Association and it is essential that the
Developer show progress in assembling the
site and evidence of the private - public
partnership in order to be considered for the
Panorama. City staff may accompany Mr.
8
