Public Hearing <br />(1) continued... <br />(1) Significant new job opportunities <br />resulting from the new development as <br />well as existing business expansion; <br />(2) Increased and diversified tax base for the <br />City and all other taxing units; <br />(3) New private investment and <br />development within the area; <br />(4) Improved roadway access in the <br />northwest portion of the City; and <br />(5) New construction and rehabilitation <br />opportunities, which will result in <br />additional jobs in those industries. <br />The tax increment generated from <br />Expansion Areas No. 12, 13, 14 and 15 will <br />be used along with the tax increment from <br />the existing Airport Economic Development <br />Area Allocation Area to reduce and <br />eliminate factors that are limiting economic <br />development. <br />Mr. Inks requested that the following items <br />related to the public hearing be entered into <br />the record: (1) Affidavits from the South <br />Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News that <br />the Notice of Public Hearing was published <br />in those newspapers on October 18, 2002; <br />(2) A statement from Mr. Robert Case that <br />on October 18, 2002, copies of the Notice of <br />Public Hearing were sent to the affected <br />property owners, registered neighborhood <br />associations and taxing units; and (3) As of <br />10:00 a.m. this morning, no written <br />remonstrances were received. <br />C- <br />
