South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting — November 1, 2002 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />F. South Bend Medical Services District <br />(1) continued... <br />Memorial Hospital's importance to South <br />Bend and the major investment the hospital <br />has made in the downtown. The City will <br />support Memorial's expansion plans and is <br />appreciative of the future investments being <br />made. Mayor Luecke encouraged favorable <br />action by the Redevelopment Commission. <br />Mr. Hunt commented that the <br />Redevelopment Commission was in full <br />support of the expansion project and it is a <br />great addition to the City. He further noted <br />that the project is extremely important, <br />particularly in light of St. Joseph Regional <br />Medical Center's leaving the community. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Faccenda, seconded <br />by Ms. Jones and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the Agreement by <br />and between the South Bend Redevelopment <br />Commission and Memorial Hospital of <br />South Bend, Inc. relating to the Memorial <br />Hospital Expansion Project. <br />E. Airport Economic Development Area <br />(1) Agreement by and among the City of <br />South Bend, the South Bend <br />Redevelopment Commission and <br />Cooreman Real Estate Group, Inc. <br />relating to the development commonly <br />known as Villas at Lake Blackthorn and <br />Westwood Knolls at Blackthorn. <br />(40� 11 <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE AGREEMENT BY <br />AND BETWEEN THE SOUTH BEND <br />REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION AND MEMORIAL <br />HOSPITAL OF SOUTH BEND, INC.
