Four of the five are vacant properties <br />and one is an occupied residence. They are <br />adjacent to the Fitterling site and acquisition <br />is necessary to accomplish long term <br />redevelopment of the Fitterling site; they are <br />also needed as part of a larger potential <br />project development site. <br />Ms. Greene asked Mr. Schalliol if these <br />properties are consistent with the South Side <br />Development Plan as previously presented <br />and approved by the Commission. <br />Mr. Schalliol responded in the affirmative. <br />He further explained that this project site, <br />and the Fitterling site more specifically, is <br />described within the South Side <br />Development Area Plan and was confirmed <br />on December 20, 2002. It is also a concern <br />for the development of the South Gateway <br />sub -area. <br />Ms. Greene asked Mr. Schalliol if it is <br />necessary that those specific properties be <br />acquired in order to accomplish this <br />development plan? <br />Mr. Schalliol stated that was correct. <br />Mr. Hunt opened the Public Hearing on PUBLIC HEARING ON RESOLUTION No. 1957. <br />Resolution No. 1957 and asked if there was <br />anyone who wished to speak. <br />Mr. Jim Frick, President of South Gateway <br />Association, advised that the Association is <br />very much in favor of the project, wants the <br />project to move forward and believes <br />acquisition of the properties is very <br />7 <br />
