South Side Development Area <br />(1) continued... <br />opportunities and private sector investment <br />within the District. <br />The projects that staff envision at this point <br />in time will easily and thoroughly <br />accomplish all four of the above objectives <br />over the life span of this project area. Staff <br />requests approval of Resolution No. 1955. <br />Ms. Greene noted that the Project District <br />involves the redevelopment of what is <br />currently known as the Scottsdale Mall. <br />This is new legislation and the South Side <br />Economic Development Project District will <br />be the first Sales Tax Increment Financing <br />District in the State that staff is aware of. <br />Resolution No. 1955 is the first step in the <br />designation process. The Resolution would <br />then go to the State Board of Finance, at <br />which point they will review the Plan and <br />the Resolution. They would then make <br />recommendations to modify, amend or <br />confirm the proposed Resolution and Plan. <br />Final action will be taken by the <br />Commission at a public hearing after a <br />confirming resolution by the Common <br />Council. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Kahn, seconded by <br />Mr. Blake and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved Resolution No. 1955 <br />designating and declaring the South Side <br />Economic Development Project District, <br />approving the South Side Economic <br />Development Project District Development <br />25 <br />
