NEW BUSINESS <br />A. Tax Abatements <br />(1) Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 1974 approving an <br />application for real property tax <br />deduction for property located at <br />121 W. LaSalle Avenue in the South <br />Bend Central Development Area. <br />( Bravokilo, Inc.) <br />Mr. Beitzinger gave the staff report on <br />the tax abatement. Bravokilo, Inc. is in <br />the process of purchasing the property at <br />121 W. LaSalle Avenue. The site is <br />currently a Burger King restaurant; <br />however the building is now 20 years old <br />and in need of renovation. Bravokilo is <br />proposing to tear down the existing <br />building and construct a new state -of- <br />the -art Burger King restaurant on the <br />site. The company believes that the <br />downtown South Bend location is a very <br />important location, and the new Burger <br />King building will enhance the brand's <br />image throughout the trade area. The <br />project cost is estimated at $842,000. <br />Bravokilo has indicated in the application <br />that no new jobs will result from this <br />project; however, the company currently <br />employs nine existing <br />4 <br />THERE WERE NO COMMUNICATIONS. <br />THERE WAS NO OLD BUSINESS. <br />
