kin
South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting— September 5, 2003
4. COMMUNICATIONS
A. Communication from Shawn Sullivan
regarding Commission owned property at
305 E. Colfax (Sycamore Street Properties)
Ms. Greene advised the Commission that she
had received a communication from Mr. Shawn
Sullivan requesting an extension of time. The
Commission purchased the former Pac Graphics
property on July 9, 2003. Mr. Sullivan was
storing some personal property at the premises
and the Commission permitted him to continue
to use the premises for storage for 30 days upon
receipt of an Indemnification Agreement.
Mr. Sullivan has provided the Commission with
the signed Indemnification Agreement.
Mr. Mathia noted that the building is not ready
to be demolished: the property must first be
inspected for asbestos, demolition specs written
and proposals solicited; so it is not inconvenient
to allow Mr. Sullivan to remain there.
Commissioners agreed with Mr. Hunt's
recommendation to permit Mr. Sullivan
continued use of the property; subject to
procurement of demolition services at which
time Mr. Sullivan will be given approximately
thirty (30) days to remove his personal property.
B. Communication from Andy Laurent regarding
groundbreaking at Oliver Industrial Park.
Mr. Laurent verified that all Commissioners
received invitations to the Oliver Industrial Park
groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday,
September 9, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Laurent
requested that one of the Commissioners speak
at the event regarding the goals of the
Studebaker /Oliver strategy. Commissioner's
will check their schedules for availability.
A
