South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting — October 3, 2003 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS <br />C. South Bend Central Development Area <br />(1) continued... <br />of the property also conforms to the <br />comprehensive plan for the City of South <br />Bend. <br />Ms. Greene noted that acquisition of <br />property is governed by Indiana Code <br />36- 7 -14 -19 and the Commission must make <br />certain findings before making a <br />determination to acquire this property. <br />Mainly, that it is reasonable and appropriate <br />in relation to the area plan and also <br />conforms to the comprehensive plan for the <br />City of South Bend. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Kahn, seconded by <br />Mr. Faccenda and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission found the acquisition to be <br />reasonable and appropriate, to conform to <br />the comprehensive plan for the City and to <br />be of public benefit and utility and approved <br />Resolution No. 2005 related to acquisition <br />of property in the South Bend Central <br />Development Area by eminent domain. <br />(Inwoods Building) <br />(2) Commission approval requested to <br />purchase an Option for property located <br />in the South Bend Central Development <br />Area. (Inwoods Building) <br />Ms. Jones advised that Item 6.C.(2) will be <br />tabled with the recognition that <br />correspondence has been received related to <br />the Inwoods Building property. The <br />Commission requested staff pursue the <br />correspondence accordingly and provide <br />follow up at a later meeting. There were no <br />objections and the Commission tabled Item <br />6.C.(2). <br />COMMISSION FOUND THE ACQUISITION TO BE <br />REASONABLE AND APPROPRIATE, TO CONFORM <br />TO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FOR THE CITY <br />AND TO BE OF PUBLIC BENEFIT AND UTILITY AND <br />APPROVED RESOLUTION NO. 2005 RELATED TO <br />ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY IN THE SOUTH BEND <br />CENTRAL DEVELOPMENT AREA BY EMINENT <br />DOMAIN. (INWOODS BUILDING) <br />COMMISSION TABLED ITEM 6.C.(2). <br />
