South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Annual Organizational Meeting— January 2, 2004 <br />6. PROGRESS REPORTS (CONT.) <br />Studebaker Corridor Project (continued...) <br />5. Agreed to sell land in Oliver Industrial park to <br />Hill Truck Sales for expansion of their Sample <br />Street business. <br />6. Constructed Oliver Plow Court including <br />extension of sewer, water, gas and fiber optic <br />lines. <br />7. Prepared English and Spanish versions of 2003 <br />Studebaker /Oliver Redevelopment Project update <br />and distributed it to city departments, public <br />offices, local libraries, mailing list of about 500. <br />8. Translated 2002 Studebaker /Oliver <br />Redevelopment Project Report into Spanish and <br />distributed it to public locations throughout <br />South Bend. <br />9. Withdrew application for IDFA Petroleum <br />Remediation Grant Incentive program for source <br />area at stamping plant. Applied for and received <br />$48,270 brownfield site assessment grant from <br />Indiana Development Finance Authority to <br />further define the nature and extent of the source <br />area. Resubmitted the application for Petroleum <br />Remediation Grant incentive program on October <br />31, 2003. IDEM /IDFA have not completed their <br />review yet. Should hear in early 2004. <br />10. Received $200,000 grant from U.S. EPA for <br />remediation of groundwater related to source at <br />stamping plant. Remediation to take place in <br />late 2004. <br />11. Met with IDEM about Voluntary Remediation <br />Program. Agreed to revise our VRP applications <br />to have a total of four for the Studebaker /Oliver <br />project area. They are Area A Soils, Area B <br />Soils, Area C Soils and Areas A, B, C <br />groundwater. Submitted two new VRP <br />applications. <br />12. Completed interior assessments of Stamping <br />Plant (1,370,000 s.f.) Huckins Tool & Die <br />(18,000 s.f.) and Underground Pipe and Valve <br />-4- <br />
