South Bend Redevelopment Commission Regular Meeting —March 5, 2004 6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) B. South Bend Central Development Area (3) continued... It was noted that bids were solicited for three separate development areas as a whole (South Bend Central, Sample -Ewing and Airport Economic) and the total project amount was considered in awarding the landscape maintenance contract to the CFH Landscape Services for the 2004 growing season. Upon a motion by Mr. Faccenda, seconded by Ms. Jones and unanimously carried, the Commission approved a request for landscape maintenance services in the South Bend Central Development Area and authorized staff to retain CFH Landscape Services based on the scope of services and fee proposed. (Various Commission owned properties) (4) Commission approval requested for proposal for elevator repair in the South Bend Central Development Area. (Hotel LaSalle) Mr. Williams reported that the elevators at the Hotel LaSalle were deemed in need of repair or closure in December 2003. Mr. Steve Stuard of Stuard & Associates evaluated the elevators and reviewed the scope of work proposed by Schindler Elevator Corporation which was requested by CB Richard Ellis and DTSB. Mr. Stuard finds the repairs and prices quoted as necessary and reasonable to maintain the three elevators in a serviceable condition and has elaborated on the extensive costs that would be associated if the elevators were to be put into a dormant state; and then put back into service at a later date. In order to facilitate the transfer of c8 COMMISSION APPROVED A REQUEST FOR LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE SERVICES IN THE SOUTH BEND CENTRAL DEVELOPMENT AREA AND AUTHORIZED STAFF TO RETAIN CFH LANDSCAPE SERVICES BASED ON THE SCOPE OF SERVICES AND FEE PROPOSED.
