South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />IL Regular Meeting —May 7, 2004 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS <br />A. South Bend Central Development Area <br />(4) Commission approval requested for <br />proposal for professional services in the <br />South Bend Central and Sample Ewing <br />Development Areas. (Appraisal services, <br />various properties within the Sample - <br />Lincolnway Triangle) <br />Mr. Williams reported that as part of a <br />continued process to acquire property in the <br />Sample - Lincolnway triangle, staff is <br />requesting the Commission approve <br />appraisal services on four (4) parcels located <br />in the acquisition area. Two appraisals are <br />required to establish area property values. <br />Two (2) proposals were received and the <br />information is as follows: <br />Jerome E. Michaels, MAI $4,800 <br />R. E. Pitts & Associates $3,450 <br />Staff recommends accepting the proposals <br />from Jerome E. Michaels, MAI and <br />R. E. Pitts & Associates. <br />Mr. Hunt asked what the purpose was for the <br />Commission to acquire the properties. <br />Ms: Greene responded that the properties are <br />not being acquired. A study is being <br />conducted to establish the value of property <br />in the Sample - Lincolnway triangle area. <br />Upon a motion by Ms. Jones, seconded by <br />Mr. Kahn and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the request for <br />professional services in the South Bend <br />10 <br />
