Redevelopment Commission Meeting <br />Regular Meeting — August 20, 2004 <br />consequence. <br />Mr. Hunt noted that the Commission has <br />spent a lot of money in the Studebaker <br />Corridor mothballing and demolishing <br />buildings. An historic building such as the <br />Administration Building will be more <br />problematic. He asked that the record note <br />his request that staff to actively pursue reuse <br />or demolition of the Administration Building. <br />Ms. Greene noted that the agreement <br />between the School Corporation and the <br />Commission provides for the possibility that <br />the Commission assign its rights in the <br />Administration Building to a third entity. <br />Staff is in discussions with Historic <br />Landmarks Foundation about its interest in it. <br />Staff is also looking for other organizations <br />who may be interested. The hope is that the <br />Commission's holding of the Administration <br />Building will be temporary. <br />Ms. Greene noted that the positive side of the <br />project is that the School Corporation will be <br />locating in the central business district of <br />downtown South Bend, bringing 150 jobs to <br />the downtown area and making substantial <br />investment in the Century Building. <br />Mr. Strauss, Facilities Manager for the <br />School Corporation, expressed excitement <br />about relocating to the Century Building. He <br />expressed appreciation for the support the <br />City has given throughout the negotiation <br />process. <br />Ms. Greene also noted that the School <br />Corporation assisted the City in assembling <br />the site for the A.J. Wright project. A parcel <br />of property was received from the School <br />Corporation as part of the TJX site for which <br />L8 <br />
