Redevelopment Commission Meeting <br />Regular Meeting — August 20, 2004 <br />infrastructure improvements in the <br />Airport Economic Development Area. <br />Ms. Hughes noted that Resolution No. 2085 <br />pertains to the transfer of easement rights on <br />two small Commission -owned properties on <br />Olive Road to Indiana Michigan Power <br />Company. This is related to ongoing <br />infrastructure improvements in the <br />development area and in furtherance of the <br />development area plan. Olive Road is <br />currently being widened to facilitate a safer <br />and more efficient flow of traffic. Easements <br />are necessary at this point so that power lines <br />can be moved from above ground to below <br />ground to go under the toll road. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Kahn, seconded by <br />Mr. Hunt and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved Resolution No. 2085 <br />approving the granting of certain easements <br />to Indiana & Michigan Power Company <br />related to infrastructure improvements in the <br />Airport Economic Development Area. <br />F. South Bend Medical Services District <br />G. West Washington- Chapin Development Area <br />(1) Staff report on acquisition of property in <br />the West Washington- Chapin <br />Development Area. (Basic Machine) <br />Mr. Williams noted that staff made an offer <br />of $115,000 for the Basic Machine property. <br />James McCune has made a counter offer of <br />$125,000 which is equivalent to the higher of <br />the two appraisals. Staff recommends <br />accepting the counter offer. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Hunt, seconded by <br />Mr. Kahn and unanimously carried, the <br />15 <br />COMMISSION APPROVED RESOLUTION NO. 2085 <br />APPROVING THE GRANTING OF CERTAIN <br />EASEMENTS TO INDIANA & MICHIGAN POWER <br />COMPANY RELATED TO INFRASTRUCTURE <br />IMPROVEMENTS IN THE AIRPORT ECONOMIC <br />DEVELOPMENT AREA. <br />COMMISSION ACCEPTED THE COUNTER OFFER OF <br />$125,000 FOR THE BASIC MACHINE PROPERTY. <br />
