G <br />G <br />14 <br />Redevelopment Commission Meeting <br />Regular Meeting — September 17, 2004 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />K. Other <br />(1) continued... <br />appreciation for his contributions to the <br />Commission. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Hunt, seconded by <br />Mr. Faccenda and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved Resolution No. 2095 <br />commending Matthew M. Kahn for <br />exemplary service to the South Bend <br />Redevelopment Commission. <br />A. Public Hearing <br />(1) Public Hearing on Resolution No. 2084 <br />amending the Sample -Ewing Development <br />Area Development Plan. <br />Mr. Laurent noted that Resolution No. 2084 <br />adds two properties to the Sample -Ewing <br />Development Area Acquisition List. The first <br />is tax key number 18- 7018 -0743, located at <br />714 E. Sample St., owned by Art Mosaic Tile <br />Co.; the second property is tax key number <br />18- 8006 -0338, owned by Peter H. Mullin and <br />Peter J. Nemeth. This is a 0.53 acre parcel <br />located on the west side of Franklin St. just <br />south of Broadway and is used as employee <br />parking and overflow space for the Eckler- <br />Lahey Lumber Company. <br />Mr. Laurent noted that these two properties <br />are located in an area previously determined <br />to be blighted (the Sample -Ewing <br />Development Area). Those findings still <br />exist, due to a lack of development in the <br />area, cessation of growth in the area, and <br />numerous structures that are visibly <br />Col <br />COMMISSION APPROVED RESOLUTION NO. 2095 <br />COMMENDING MATTHEW M. KAHN FOR <br />EXEMPLARY SERVICE TO THE SOUTH BEND <br />REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION. <br />
