Tax Abatements <br />(3) Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 2100 approving an <br />application for real property tax deduction <br />for property located at 2820 Viridian <br />Drive in the Airport Economic <br />Development Area. (Mack Tool and <br />Engineering) <br />Mr. Inks noted that this is the last tax <br />abatement Mr. Beitzinger will present. He <br />has accepted a position as a loan officer with <br />Teachers' Credit Union. Mr. Inks noted that <br />over the years it has been his pleasure to take <br />compliments from a number of people with <br />whom Mike has worked in the tax abatement <br />program. He expressed his appreciation to <br />Mike for all his good work. <br />Ms. Greene echoed that compliment, saying <br />Mike has been wonderful to work with and <br />has represented the Commission and the City <br />of South Bend very well. We'll all miss him. <br />(Mr. Faccenda left the meeting at this point to attend <br />another engagement.) <br />Mr. Beitzinger gave the staff report on the <br />project. Mack Tool & Engineering, Inc. is a <br />prototype and experimental machining parts <br />business in the aerospace and medical <br />industries. They are planning a 10,000 sft <br />building addition to their property at <br />2820 Viridian Drive. The building addition <br />will provide new shop space and new <br />bathrooms. The project also includes <br />renovating the offices, and making electric <br />and telephone related improvements. The <br />IL 21 <br />
