Redevelopment Commission Meeting <br />Rescheduled Regular Meeting —October 8, 2004 <br />5. OLD BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />A. Resolution No. 2084 <br />previously by Mr. Nemeth and Mr. Mullen and not <br />approve Resolution No. 2084. <br />Mr. King made a motion that Resolution No. 2084 <br />be amended to delete the Nemeth/Mullen property <br />from the Acquisition List. Mr. Hunt seconded the <br />motion and it was unanimously approved. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. King, seconded by Mr. Hunt <br />and unanimously carried, the Commission approved <br />Resolution No. 2084 as amended, amending the <br />Sample -Ewing Development Area Development <br />Plan. <br />6. NEW BUSINESS <br />A. Tax Abatements <br />(1) Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 2102 approving an <br />application for personal property tax <br />deduction for property located at 3605 W. <br />Cleveland Road in the Airport Economic <br />Development Area. (Federal - Mogul) <br />Mr. Inks gave the report on the tax <br />abatement. Federal Mogul Powertrain, Inc. <br />is a manufacturer of automotive pistons for <br />customers such as GM, Ford and Nissan. <br />The company began operations in South <br />Bend in 1987 and has seen steady growth <br />throughout its 17 years in the community. <br />For this project the company is proposing to <br />transfer a piston machine line and tooling <br />from Lagrange, Georgia. They will make <br />minor modifications and install the machine <br />line. The total cost of the new equipment is <br />estimated at $7.482 million. <br />14 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2084 AMENDED TO DELETE <br />NEMETH/MULLEN PROPERTY FROM THE <br />ACQUISITION LIST <br />COMMISSION APPROVED AMENDED RESOLUTION <br />No. 2084 AMENDING THE SAMPLE -EWING <br />DEVELOPMENT AREA DEVELOPMENT PLAN. <br />
