South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting — February 4, 2005
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
C. Sample -Ewing Development Area
(3) continued...
Mr. Laurent responded that staff did not
anticipate environmental issues. However,
without actually having conducted an
environmental assessment of the property,
the best guess is that the property would be
impacted by the same off -site sources of
groundwater conditions as the Oliver site.
That is why there is a twelve (12) month
environmental testing provision within the
purchase offer for investigations, to either
cancel the property transaction, or complete
environmental clean -up as required using the
escrowed funds.
Upon a motion by Mr. Hunt, seconded by
Mr. Downes and unanimously carried, the
Commission approved Resolution No. 2137
relating to acquisition of real property in the
Sample -Ewing Development.
D. Airport Economic Development Area
(1) Commission approval requested for
Authorization for Entry upon Public
Property for Site Development. (Lot 2A,
Toll Road Industrial Park)
Mr. Inks requested that Item 6.D.(1) be
tabled until the Regular Meeting of
February 18, 2005.
