South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting —April 1, 2005 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />D. South Bend Central Development Area <br />(6) continued... <br />Plaza formerly owned by MEPT (Multi <br />Employer Property Trust), now owned by <br />Westminster Leighton, LLC and execution of <br />that Agreement in a form acceptable to legal <br />counsel. <br />E. Sample -Ewing Development Area <br />There was no business in the Sample -Ewing <br />Development Area. <br />F. Airport Economic Development Area <br />(1) Commission approval requested for <br />Master Lease and miscellaneous <br />documents related to lease of 75 Parview <br />10 -in GPS Systems for Blackthorn Golf <br />Course. <br />Mr. Tim Firestone of Blackthorn Golf Club <br />addressed the Commission. GPS units are <br />computerized units inside golf carts that <br />provide yardage -to -hole for a golfer and <br />basically enhances the overall golf <br />experience and speed of play. A new wave <br />in upscale public golf courses, Blackthorn <br />management feels it necessary to have GPS <br />units to keep leading the way in public golf <br />in northern Indiana. The previous agreement <br />was a year -to -year agreement where <br />Blackthorn would have the units for six (6) <br />months and then they would be shipped to <br />Florida for six (6) months. Blackthorn never <br />had to own or lease the equipment, as it was <br />just a year -to -year deal. That system did not <br />seem to work out well and the supplying <br />14 <br />THERE WAS NO BUSINESS IN THE SAMPLE -EWING <br />DEVELOPMENT AREA. <br />
