South Bend Redevelopment Commission Regular Meeting -January 2, 2007 4. ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION N0. Z286 (CONT.) Mr. King asked staff to spend some time over the next year to clarify the Commission's authority to vary from the city salary ordinance. If the action to approve salaries is just a formality, so be it. If the Commission actually has the authority to set the salaries, then it also has the responsibility to see to it that it's doing the best job it canto match compensation with performance. Upon a motion by Mr. King, seconded by Mr. Hojnacki and unanimously carried, the Commission approved Resolution No. 2286 setting maximum salaries for 2007 and appointing staff. 5. SET REGULAR MEETING TIMES FOR 2007 Ms. Jones noted that unless otherwise scheduled the meetings for 2007 will be held at 10:00 a.m. on the first and third Fridays of every month. A list of the 2007 meeting dates was distributed to anyone who wished a copy. Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by Mr. King and unanimously carried, the Regular Meetings of the Redevelopment Commission for 2007 were set for 10:00 a.m. local time on the first and third Fridays of every month. 2. SWEARING IN OF COMMISSIONERS Mr. John Voorde, City Clerk, administered the oath of office to the following Commissioners: Mr. Karl King, Gregory Downes, and Mr. Hardie Blake. Ms. Marcia Jones and Mr. William Hojnacki were not yet reappointed by the Common Council. Ms. Greene noted that Indiana Code 36.7.14-6.1 governs the appointment of Commissioners. IC 36.7.14-7 provides that each Commissioner serves fora 1-year term from the 1St day of January after and until a successor is appointed and qualified.
