South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting —June 28, 2011 <br />Mr. Varner asked how the Commission will <br />place restrictions on the Redevelopment <br />Authority property. Mr. Relos answered that <br />the city will work out an agreement with the <br />Redevelopment Authority. <br />Mr. Varner asked whether there might be any <br />possibility of development occurring at the <br />Emporium or Redevelopment Authority's <br />parking lots at some future time. Mr. <br />Matthews' response was that the restrictions <br />would prevent anyone building above three <br />stories, to not block the views. The property <br />will remain vacant and kept as a parking lot. <br />Mr. Relos noted that the attorneys are very <br />close to coming to an agreement which will <br />be subject to approval by the Redevelopment <br />Authority. <br />Ms. King made a motion to approve the <br />Agreement for Sale of Land for the northeast <br />corner of Jefferson and Niles with River <br />Race Townhomes LLC. Mr. Downes <br />seconded the motion. The motion passed on <br />a vote of four in favor. Mr. Varner opposed. <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE AGREEMENT FOR <br />SALE OF LAND FOR THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF <br />- JEFFERSON & NILES WITH RIVER RACE <br />TOWNHOMES LLC.
