However, if the property is deemed worthless, such <br /> may be demolished or junked. <br /> ADOPTED this 13th day of JUNE 2011. <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> s/Gary Gilot <br /> s/ Donald Inks <br /> s/ Carl Littrell <br /> ATTEST: <br /> s/Linda Martin, Clerk <br /> ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 43-2011 — A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD <br /> OF PUBLIC WORKS ON USE OF AN AUCTIONEER FOR DISPOSAL OF UNFIT AND/OR <br /> OBSOLETE PROPERTY <br /> Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the following Resolution <br /> was adopted by the Board of Public Works for use of an auctioneer by the South Bend Police <br /> Department for unclaimed and obsolete merchandise: <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 43-2011 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> ON USE OF AN AUCTIONEER FOR DISPOSAL OF UNFIT AND/OR OBSOLETE <br /> PROPERTY <br /> WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works that the following <br /> property is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and is no longer needed by the City of <br /> South Bend Police Department: <br /> BICYCLES, LAWN MOWERS, TOOLS, CLOTHING, ELECTRONICS, ,IEWERLY <br /> AND OTHER MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS <br /> WHEREAS, Indiana Code 5-22-22-1 permits and establishes procedures for disposal of <br /> property which is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and which is no longer needed <br /> by the City. <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with Indiana Code § 5-22-22-4, the Board may engage an <br /> auctioneer to conduct a public auction in order to dispose of the City's surplus personal property <br /> if the property to be sold is one (1) item with an estimated total value of $1,000 or less, or is <br /> more than one (1) item with an estimated value of$5,000 or less; and <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said items may be transferred or sold at public <br /> auction, conducted by an auctioneer licensed under I.C. 25-6.1, after advertising the property for <br /> sale.
